"Towards Laguna" 12" x 16" oil/linen
Being in a California gallery has opened up a whole new genre of painting for me which is very exciting. I completed two paintings today and have posted the first one here. I haven't been able to get a good photograph of the second painting but maybe tomorrow I'll get it done. Both paintings are 12" x 16" in size and painted on linen canvas.
This scene is typical of many that can be found along PCH 1 in and around Laguna Beach all the way down to Carmel. Up next for me is a few Texas Hill Country paintings.

Eager to see what you can create with the new southern California inspiration
Thanks David. Yea, I've been surfing the web for reference material on the California coast. I'm planning a week-long painting trip in late May. Can't wait to get out there and paint it for real.
Laguna is always a beautiful place and you've captured it beautifully!
Very nice Rusty. I think your palette fits very nicely with the California landscape and the California impressionist style of painting!
